Hello!
We’ve just recieved some delightful brooches from just trade.They are hand crocheted ‘five a day’ fruit and vegetables andthey are made by the women working for project Zoe who livein the shantytowns on the outskirts of Lima, Peru. Just Tradeworks hard to ensure that work can be provided for people ofregardless of their skill levels, and each new collection isdesigned collaboratively with the women taking intoconsideration availability of materials and building on existingtechniques. They make the products in their own homesenabling them to earn a living wage without having to leave their children and are paid to train others what they have learnt, so the project is enabling increasing numbers of Peru’s poorest women and young people to have the opportunity of fairly paid employment.
They are available for £5 and would look sweet on your favourite cardi,top or t-shirt!
